Vidkun Quisling

In Skien we do not consider it a lot that the traitor from WW II, Vidkun Quisling has his grave and tombstone at the Gjerpen churchyard. His father was a vicar at Gjerpen church when Vidkun Quisling was a young boy.

Our friends from Minot were greatly surprised that Quisling's grave was that easy to get at.

On the picture you see Jim Sites, Norwegian Honorary Consul in Montana, and Curt Zimbelman, Mayor of Minot. Curt wrote in an e-mail after the visit to Skien and Telemark: " I want to thank you for the wonderful time provided the Minot delegation while in Skien. We had a great time during our visit to Norway. The Minot delegation will have wonderful memories of our trip. I do believe the sister city relationship we have is truly unique and opens opportunities for both cities".
